Overcome Your Trauma

Alice Porter, CSW

Alice is a Certified Clinical Social Worker in the state of Kentucky. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in sociology from Western Kentucky University and her Master of Social Work degree from the University of Kentucky. Alice originally began her career in social work at a therapeutic foster care agency. While there, she primarily worked with transitional youth aging out of the foster care system. Alice believes in a person-centered approach to psychotherapy utilizing empathy, respect, and collaboration with the individual. She creates a safe and nurturing space where individuals can openly explore their thoughts, feelings, and experiences. Through evidence-based practices and a person-centered approach, she works alongside individuals to develop a tailored treatment plan that addresses their unique needs and goals.

She is equipped to help individuals cope with symptoms of anxiety, depression, trauma, borderline personality, relationship issues, and life transitions, and more. Alice utilizes a variety of therapeutic modalities, including cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), mindfulness techniques, strengths-based interventions, and internal family systems therapy to help individuals regain their sense of self and improve their well-being.

In her spare time, Alice enjoys hiking, cooking, and spending time with her dog and two cats!
